The Ship Inn, a Grade 2 Listed Building was a 17th C Coaching Inn and still retains features and ambiance from that period. The area is of particular interest to those wishing to explore the unspoiled Solway coastline containing a large variety of wildlife, miles of beach and fine views across the Solway Firth to the Dumfries and Galloway Hills and the fells of Cumbria and the Lake District. Carlisle, the County capital, Hadrians Wall and Wordsworth's birthplace of Cockermouth are easily reached. This is an area designated as one of “outstanding natural beauty” and particularly suited to walkers and cyclists. Additionally, there are windsurfing and fishing facilities and the golf courses of Maryport and Silloth are close-by. The Station Hotel offers time honoured Cumbrian hospitality at its very best with a choice of accommodation comprising of: 1 Double bedded room 1 Twin bedded room 4 Family rooms (sleeps 3, double & single bed) All bedrooms are furnished to a high standard with beautiful, locally crafted pine furniture and a well equipped en-suite shower room and hairdyer, each have a television with satellite channels and all rooms have free WiFi access. The breakfast facilities are run on a self service basis. We provide everything you require for a full continental breakfast so you can serve yourself. There is no set time for breakfast as everything is readily available whenever you require. Dogs welcome. All rooms are non-smoking. |
