A charming, cosy 18th century Lakeland cottage in a tranquil location with a pretty garden and fell views. Five minutes walk to village shops, pubs, restaurants. There is a pretty south facing garden with table and chairs and parking for one vehicle in front of the cottage. The interior is comfortably furnished throughout and has many original features and plenty of character. The cosy sitting room has an old stone fireplace and woodburning stove and is furnished with a large sofa and two easy chairs. There is a television and hi-fi. Moss Bank is to be found off the Kirkstone Road which connects Ambleside to the Kirkstone Pass and there are many lovely walks to be made from the doorstep. Open all year. Sleeps 2-5. |

Situated within a quiet courtyard, just off the centre of this peaceful village, Barbara and Derick offer three charming cottages skilfully converted from a large 17th century barn. Surprisingly spacious, and retaining much of the character with beamed ceilings and thick stone walls, a great deal of care has gone into its conversion. Babara and Derick also offer Glebe Byre, a former 17th Century farm building that was used until the 1960’s as a milking parlour. It is currently being converted into a superior luxury appointed two bed roomed bungalow and is due for completion in the spring of 2005. The major feature of this property is its exclusive and peaceful setting in the centre of an attractive village and with its panoramic fellside views. Our cottage is right on the border of Cumbria and Northumberland and is ideally located to explore everything these stunning counties have to offer. It is ideal for both couples, or groups of three or for families with up to 2 children. Our facilites include: Beautiful gardens surrounding Tantallon House, including a stunning owl to say hello to! Comfy double bed and single bed in a single bedroom, so you can feel totally relaxed. Airy, light, modern lounge where you can unwind after you days exploring. Modern, spacious kitchen, where we're got everthing you could need. As award winning accommodation owners, we've thought of everything for you... Tantallon Holiday Cottage is pleasant, light and contemporary with a spacious lounge containing French windows opening through to the private garden. The lounge is furnished with a large floor rug, two comfortable double sofas and a 37" TV with a DVD Blu ray player. The bright kitchen, overlooking the garden, is equipped with up to date integrated appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, single oven, ceramic hob and fridge with freezer compartment. A contemporary foldable dining table seats 4 people in the dining area. We have free WiFi for our guests to use in the comfort of the cottage, so you can stay connected if you need to. Upstairs, a good sized bedroom, contains a luxurious king size bed (5') and a 3' single bed with wardrobe and dressing table. Top quality linens are used on the beds with goose down duvets. A hotel standard folding bed is provided as well. The cottage is equipped with an environmentally efficient central heating installation for the radiators located in each room and for the hot water. A separate ground floor bathroom contains the shower, WC and hand basin. Adjoining Tantallon House, the Cottage has ample parking provided right outside. The French windows in the lounge connect through to the cottage's private landscaped rear garden. A path leading around to the front of Tantallon House enables guests to sit and enjoy the fantastic views of the Irthing Valley, Hadrian's Wall and the Pennines. |
