This is a perfect destination for the serious walker, casual rambler, and cyclists have miles of quiet lanes surrounding us and with Grizedale Forest nearby, and traffic-free tracks through beautiful woodland are easily accessible.
We offer three distinctive double rooms, all with en-suite facilities:
Windermere - With a panoramic view of the Lake, this room boasts an imposing superking-size bed (6' wide) and spacious en-suite with large shower.
Claife View - Enjoys double aspect views over Claife Heights & Windermere and has an en-suite shower room.
Beckside - With views to three sides and adjacent to our own Lakeland stream, it features a superking-size (6' wide) bed, sitting area plus an en-suite bathroom with shower-bath. (Beckside can be arranged with twin beds if required.)
All bedrooms have:
Bottled mineral water, tea & coffee with fresh milk supplied daily, flat screen LCD televisions with a choice of 120 TV and 80 radio channels, luxurious towels and toiletries supplied for use during your stay, en-suites with thermostatically controlled under-tile heating and hairdryers.

in our elegant, light and airy breakfast room which offers superb views over the waters of Windermere.

| Oak Apple Barn |

Oak Apple Barn is part of a former lakeland farm and is situated alongside a quiet country lane between the pretty village of Hawkshead and the famous beauty spot Tarn Hows. It is within easy walking distance of the village which is about half a mile away. Oak Apple Barn has been carefully renovated to a very high standard and retains many of the old and interesting features, particularly the mellow pine and old oak beams.
The comfortable lounge has an old stone fireplace, multi fuel stove, a settee, easy chairs and colour television. The lounge area has southerly views over open countryside towards Hawkshead village.
There is ample car parking space in the large farmyard. |

The first holiday cottage is "Ann Tyson's Main Cottage", a grade 2* listed Lake District self catering holiday cottage, early home of the poet, William Wordsworth, who lodged at the cottage between 1779 and 1787.
The accommodation in "The Main Cottage" consists of 2 double bedrooms both with hand basins and an extra single bed on a large landing. This will accommodate 4 / 5 people in all. There is a ground floor bathroom, for easy access, with bath and electric shower, toilet and hand basin.
There are Oak beams and an open brick fireplace, coal provided, and oil fired central heating. The Lounge has a colour T.V and a dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker, microwave and a fridge freezer. There is parking on the front of the holiday cottage for one vehicle.

The second self catering holiday cottage is "Ann Tyson's Top Cottage", smaller accommodation, it has 2 bedrooms, one twin and one double,sleeping up to 4 people, ideally two adults, two children.
There is a lounge with colour TV, open fire (coal provided) and oil-fired central heating. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and hand basin. There is a small kitchenette with an electric cooker, fridge freezer and microwave and a small dining area. The cottage also has a private garden and private parking space for one vehicle.
