A warm welcome awaits you at Ullathorns, a working sheep and beef farm situated in the quiet, unspoilt Lune Valley. It is midway between the market towns of Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale, both 5 miles away. The farm is situated below Middleton Fell, three quarters of a mile from the main road. The farmhouse is dated 1617 and 'Ullathorn' is a viking name for a place where wolves lie. Refreshments are served upon arrival.
Ullathorns is an ideal touring base being close to the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, and the Trough of Bowland, all having beautiful scenery and many visitor attractions. England’s largest show cave at Ingleton is only 10 miles away.
Rooms available are one double en-suite and one family/twin/double en-suite room. Both rooms are spacious with color televisions and tea/coffee making facilities.
A hearty breakfast is served in the dining room, which has individual tables. This room is also the visitors lounge, and is warmed, when required by a log burner. There is also a patio area for use by visitors.

High Green Farm is a 350 acre beef and sheep farm situated in the Lune valley midway between the market towns of Kirkby Lonsdale and Sedbergh. The farm enjoys an idyllic, rural setting and is an ideal location for those wanting to escape from the pressures of life and enjoy a rural experience away from crowds, pollution and busy roads, yet only 10 minutes from the M6 motorway. This family farm is set in open countryside, surrounded by wonderful views and lovely walks. A large, well maintained garden with its own natural stream is accessible to guests. The 18th century farmhouse is tastefully modernised retaining the original oak beams and offering comfortable, well appointed accommodation.
Our ground floor double room with en suite facilities has been recently refurbished and is decorated to a high standard. From the window seat guests can relax and enjoy lovely views of the fields and animals grazing.
The room is equipped with colour television, hairdryer and hospitality tray.
The double room with en suite facilities is a bright room with the original oak beams, is sensitively decorated in pastel tones and has been tastefully furnished for the comfort of guests. A hairdryer, colour television and hospitality tray are provided.
Guests can gaze out over the fields in our dining room/lounge as they tuck into their hearty cooked breakfast. The old oak beams are a feature of this room and a log fire for when the days are colder.

The self-catering cottage with private entrance adjoins the main farmhouse and has been carefully converted from a milking parlour and hayloft above.
It is well maintained and provides spacious character accommodation with modern comfort.
Spectacular views of fells and open countryside can be seen from many windows; the cottage is ideally positioned to provide a quiet holiday break.
Downstairs is a large open-plan area. It is furnished with comfortable chairs and has colour television and video. There are French doors opening onto a furnished sun terrace.

Fleshbeck Cottage was build in 1717 and is part of the large farmhouse that served the farm. The dining room is traditionally furnished as is the lounge with its cast iron range. The Old Stables is a newly coverted barn retaining many of the original features yet offering every modern comfort.
A Large lounge with log fire and bacony, kitchen with dishwasher etc., one double and two twin bedrooms, en-suite and bathroom, washer/dryer, garden and parking.
The "Old Stable" was built in 1746 and has been newly converted from a traditional farm building that housed 3 working horses together with a barn, loose box and granary. It now has 3 ground floor bedrooms:- 1 twin with en-suite, 1 double and 1 twin with bathroom between. On the upper floor there is a large dining area / lounge with open fire, oak beams and furniture.
The oak kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer etc. There are washing and drying facilities and the whole building has under floor central heating. Sky TV is provided as is linen and towels. There is ample parking and a garden. |

Easily reached by the motorway network, Woodclose Caravan Park is midway between the hills in the National Parks of the English Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and the less famous but no less beautiful Howgill range.
Private and secluded yet only an easy stroll from one of the most delightful market towns one could wish to find - Kirkby Lonsdale. Here we can only offer a little taste or two of the wonderful variety of the area.
The Caravan Park was started over thirty years ago providing a unique holiday base for static vans, tents and tourers in the Lune Valley. It is well established and very much a part of the local scene. Spreading over nine acres and in a privileged location in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
There are two excellent toilet facilities, including showers. No charge is made for hot water. Hair dryers for the ladies are available for a small charge.
There is a laundry room with tumble dryer, washing machine, iron and ironing board.
Electric hook ups for tourers.
Calor Gas, fresh milk and other produce is available from the site shop.
There is a play area reserved for children.
Dogs are allowed provided that they are kept under close control and are exercised off the Park at all times. |
