Bankfield hotel stands in its own 5 acres of grounds in beautiful countryside. The hotel is fully licensed and has a fine reputation for good wholesome cooking using as far as possible local meat fish and game, both for Bar and Restaurant meals. We are open all day for breakfast, morning coffees, lunch and afternoon teas, high teas and dinner. The traditional sunday lunch is a Bankfield speciality with many of our customers coming every week.
The hotel is ideally situated to suit all outdoor pursuits being near to the coast, the lakes and the fells and is a very comfortable relaxing base for enjoying such a holiday. All bedrooms are ensuite. There is a comfortable lounge, bar, restaurant and large dining room. The standards of personal attention are what make Bankfield a favourite place for private functions such as dinner parties, wedding receptions and meetings.

Nestling on the edge of woodland, between the picturesque Whicham Valley and Duddon Estuary, Underwood Country Guest House is a beautifully restored Victorian Vicarage with excellent facilites only normally associated with a first class hotel, reflected in the 5 diamond rating from the AA.
The cuisine is first class and only fresh local produce, much of which is grown in our own gardens and greenhouse is used for meals prepared by our very own Gourmet Chef.
All of the rooms at Underwood House have been individually designed and each one is named after the stunning view from the bedroom's window.
Every room has a King Size Bed, an en-suite bathroom, equipped with power shower, colour televsion, tea and coffee making facilites, hairdryer and of course bathrobes for the pool.
You can either book your room with Breakfast, which is included in the rate, or choose to join us for Dinner as well and sample the fine cuisine, prepared by our Chef.

In the quiet village of Kirksanton in southwest Cumbria, Black Combe House offers hearty breakfasts and comfortable rooms with rural views.
There are 5 double rooms, 1 twin room, 1 single room and 1 family room with twin beds and bunk beds.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, plus TV, DVD, hospitality tray, shaver plug and hair dryer.
A very comfortable guests' lounge with TV, books, magazines and games is available, and if you require internet access, the house is equipped with a wireless router.
The dining room may be used for your evening takeaway meal if you wish.
In the morning we will fill your flask, and if there is anything else you need we'll do our very best to help.
Directly opposite Black Combe House, there is the village green and in front of the house, ample parking space.
We have a non-smoking policy, and pets are not allowed in Black Combe House. However your dog may sleep in the car on our private and safe forecourt.
Black Combe House is only 5 minutes from the beach, the golf club, an equestrian centre , nature reserve and beautiful countryside. Here, where the mountains do reach down and touch the sea and time passes wonderfully slowly. |

Seagull House is a modern holiday cottage, situated in the peaceful village of Port Haverigg, Cumbria.
Whether you want a quiet holiday retreat or somewhere to walk and explore, Seagull House is the ideal base. Local pubs and shops can be found on our doorstep, as well as an attrative RSPB bird shelter for nature enthusiasts.
Seagull House is owned and managed by ourselves; Kath and Alan Horton.
The cottage can accommodate 4/5 people with two double bedrooms and a folding bed. A travel cot and a high chair are also supplied. Seagull House is designed over three levels with wood flooring and pine furnishings throughout. The entrance is via a private Courtyard with barbeque and garden furniture.
The cottage's ground floor comprises a double bedroom, shower room (electric shower, wash basin, toilet), a living area, built-in storage and a washing machine. Open pine stairs lead to the middle level which is the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Both living rooms are equipped with freeview TV, a DVD player and a CD player. Books and games are also available for guests to use.
The kitchen is fully equipped with solid beech worktops, fan oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, cooking utensils and tea towels. The patio doors open out onto the Sun balcony which has views over the river to the sea and the nearest fell: Black Combe. Stone steps lead down to the river frontage.
More pine stairs lead to the spacious upper bedroom with en-suite facilities (bath, wash basin, toilet) and a large built-in wardrobe. All bedlinen and bath towels are supplied and electricity is included in the price. There is also designated parking within the complex. |
