Calder House Hotel
Calder House Hotel, Seascale, The Lake District.

Whether you have come for a relaxing weekend by the beach, or a spot of hill climbing, maybe a few days of golf perhaps, or just a business meeting away from work. Calder House Hotel will be the ideal venue.
Just 50 yards from the wide stretches of the West Coast of Cumbria looking seaward to the Isle of Man, we can offer you a warm and friendly welcome with excellent but affordable food and accommodation. We will be your perfect anchor point for all your activities. With our newly refurbished Tivoli Garden function room and Chamberlain's Victorian theme restaurant you can be sure of an enjoyable stay.
Built in 1882, this imposing Victorian residence became Calder Girls School in 1884 until it closed its doors in 1967, in its heyday the school was patronised by the well to do society of the day who sent their offspring to board in the flourishing seaside resort of Seascale.
With the recent opening of our new restaurants and function rooms we are now able to facilitate that business meeting away from the work environment.

Eskdale House
Eskdale House

Eskdale House is a large Victorian house that was built around 1850. The house has an interesting history and at one time was a boarding house for Calder Girls School.
The front of the house overlooks the Irish sea, to the side and rear are views of the well known Seascale Golf course and the Western Lake District fells beyond.
This is ideal for cyclists, walkers and muscians who require no frills and a friendly, relaxed homely atmosphere.
Breakfast is usually on a "help your self" basis and includes a selection of cereals, toast, homemade bread, eggs, fruit juice and tea or coffee.
You will have use of the guest sitting room in the evening with Sky TV and free broadband wireless internet access.
Our house is right next to Hadrians Wall cycle way route, and the start of the C2C is just along the coast at St Bees.
We have safe and secure storage for your bikes in our garage.
After a day out relax in the impressive house bathroom with a fantastic shower. There is also a separate toilet/washroom.
There are many local take aways and nearby pubs/restuarants where you can eat in the evening.
Eskdale House is an ideal place to stay for a night or two if you are passing through or planning to do some rides in the area.
