Kirkstone Pass Inn

This celebrated Inn standing at 1500 feet on the summit of Lakeland's Kirkstone Pass needs little promotional material. Once having found it, guests return time and time again. From here landscapes and cloudscapes merge to present views of an assembly of some of Lakeland's scenic masterpieces. The Kirkstone has plied its trade of food, comfort, warmth and hospitality over five centuries. Today, visitors can be assured of the same with a wide choice of home made food prepared from locally sourced products. The hearty portions of Steak & Ale Pie, which can only be described as “eye popping”, are strongly recommended.
The accommodation ranges from four double and one triple en – suite bed & breakfasts to centrally heated bunkhouse arrangements sleeping 12 people. A good selection of drinks are served in the cosy bar including local ales on draught. Ample car parking facilities are situated across the road below,and, convenient for an ascent of the lofty Red Screes from whose summit there are views to rekindle the zest for living. Cyclists and walkers can benefit from advice and help of the proprietors, Gail, John and Stan who themselves are keen followers of both activities. The Kirkstone Pass Inn is indeed one of the Lake District and Cumbria's notable.
